Adina Lubek, South Campus Principal

Feb 7, 2018 | Blog, News

We are excited to announce that Adina Lubek will assume the role of South Campus Principal in August 2018.

Adina has been a key figure in Leo Baeck history for over twenty years. She is an accomplished teacher of Hebrew and General Studies and has held multiple leadership positions at our school, from Lead Teacher to Preschool Supervisor to, most recently, VP Grades JK-3. She is a graduate of day school, CHAT and York University’s Jewish Teacher Training Program. Adina, her husband Martin Saipe and their family are members of Temple Sinai.

Adina’s love and dedication to our students, her contributions to our community and her deep connection to all three pillars of our mission will serve Leo Baeck well. She brought leadership to our Preschool five years ago, playing a key role in redefining our Kindergarten curriculum. After a thorough search of highly qualified candidates, we determined that Adina was the right choice and the best suited to implementing the goals of academic excellence and student preparedness laid out in our new Strategic Plan.

We are so grateful for the remarkable impact Rochelle Chester, our Interim South Campus Principal has made on our school culture these past two years. She has strengthened the bonds among our staff, students and families and has elevated our school’s commitment to respectful, compassionate and nurturing relationships. We are thrilled that Rochelle has agreed to remain a full-time administrator supporting our students and guiding Adina to ensure a smooth transition. Rochelle was a valuable partner in selecting Adina as our new Principal, helping us see the value of a candidate with a long Leo Baeck history and strong alignment with our mission.

In the coming weeks, we will organize a series of opportunities for Adina to meet with our families in small group settings and share her vision for our future. We are also planning a community tribute to Rochelle.

We look forward to working together at this exciting time in the history of our school.
